  • I’VE HEARD THAT THERE IS A NEW 2ND GENERATION OF SOFTWARE AVAILABLE ON MY ZS EV?

    During the lifespan of a vehicle model, various changes can be made to interior trim, exterior cosmetics or system functions to ensure that it features cutting edge technology and remains attractive to potential buyers.  MG ZS EV models manufactured after mid-June 2020, will have a newly developed 2nd generation of Comfort System Operation installed on the car.  This is now available for customers who wish to benefit from these later updates on earlier build models.

    Whilst all the below features involve software changes to key components on your vehicle, the updated software is not available to cars with 1st Generation software as ‘warranty upgrade’.  MG’s warranty is there to cover the cost of repair or replacement of a failed part due to a manufacturing defect, and not for updates/upgrades, and will therefore be chargeable.  Please speak to your MG dealer to find out associated charges for this update.

    This new 2nd generation of Comfort System Operation includes changes to:

    • Faster system self-check when powering ‘ON’
    • Infotainment volume maintains and restarts at previous volume setting after powering ON/OFF
    • Auto High Beam system disable option available in menu settings
    • General warning chime quality improvements and reduced volume
    • Warning chimes reduced for MG Pilot and Key Reminder
    • Vehicle temperature and temperature alarm featured in the instrument display
    • Vehicle range always on display in instrument pack
    • Vehicle can be unlocked during A/C charging, when re-locked charging automatically resumes

    NOTE: Changing the vehicle’s software may affect the current operating strategy that is personalised by the owner and is irreversible once applied.  MG cannot be held responsible for any actions or failures caused by operations of this nature when not covered by warranty.

  • My MG3 (pre-18MY) navigation unit date and time automatically resets to 01-01-2000

    We are aware of a software issue affecting a handul of MG3 'GoNavigate' units, whereby the date and time resets to 01-01-2000.  Please download the software update here and find the "How To Guide" here.

    The update process should take around 10 minutes.

  • I only drive a few miles a week, do I still need to service it regularly?

    Yes. Wear and tear on your MG is caused by age as well as by mileage. It is important that you service your MG at regular intervals to ensure it's running as safely and efficiently as possible.

  • What tyres should I use on my MG?

  • I NEED A EUROPEAN CERTIFICATE OF CONFORMITY TO REGISTER MY VEHICLE IN ANOTHER COUNTRY

    For MG TF vehicles produced after 2008, click here to contact MG directly. MG do not charge for this service. For MG or Rover Group vehicles produced before 2008, please contact www.mgrccservices.com for information. This is a chargeable service and MG Motor has no influence over this as it applies to a legacy product.

  • I NEED A KEY / RADIO / EMERGENCY ACCESS CODE FOR MY CURRENT MG OR ROVER (PRE-2008)

    You can get key / radio and emergency access codes, subject to proof of ownership, from two authorised sources. Visit either www.xpart.com or www.mgrccservices.com. Both companies apply nominal charges for the provision of information and MG Motor has no influence over this as it applies to legacy product.

  • I NEED A KEY / RADIO / EMERGENCY ACCESS CODE FOR MY CURRENT MG (POST 2008)

    Your local dealer will be able to help you with this. There is no charge for this service.

  • ARE SPARES AVAILABLE AROUND THE WORLD?

    The MG brand is going through a period of great growth and our cars are now sold in more markets than ever before.  However, MG Motor UK are only responsible for parts supply to UK franchised dealers.  For other markets, you will need to contact the local importer or dealership.

  • I NEED SPARE PARTS FOR AN OLDER MG, CAN YOU HELP?

    Cars between circa 1990 and 2005: All new MG dealers have an arrangement with X Part Limited, the official supplier of spare parts for all MG and Rover Group cars. Alternatively, you can log on to www.xpart.com

    Vehicles older than 1990: Parts for older vehicles may be available from X Part – www.xpart.com however, in many cases parts will not be available via this route.
